DIGITAL DESIGN II (AT 8571)

VBCPS: 3 credits per year, 2 years

This two-year program helps students develop the skills and learn the principles involved in advertising design.  Students learn the development and function of advertising, the production processes involved and how to cross technical and visual boundaries by using the elements of graphic design and computer graphic arts. Elements covered are illustration, typography, photography, digital video, computer graphics, web design, 3-D design and creation, animation and designing for mobile devices and electronic distribution. Students will prepare for the Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) certification exams and the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) assessment in Advertising Design.

 

 

 

MARKETING & ENTREPRENEURSHIP (ME 8223)

Two-year program

VBCPS: 2 credits per year, 2 years

This exciting program explores marketing, entrepreneurship and professional success. Students will work with local businesses, entrepreneurs and mentors as they explore the skills needed to pursue a career in marketing or launch a winning business!  Topics of study include social media marketing, leadership, team productivity, business plan development, financial strategies, and project management.   First semester, the study of marketing fundamentals will lead to a class-related business venture.  In the spring semester, students will earn the opportunity to attend exciting DECA Leadership Conferences. Membership in DECA offers travel, scholarships and networking. Students will also prepare to take the national certification exam in Sales and Service I and II in March.  A total of three credits may be earned by working in a part-time job  (Co-op).

Learn to help others explore and experience the cultures and cuisines of the world. If you are interested in the opportunity to travel and break new ground in an industry where talent is rewarded, and where no day is the same, then this is the program for you. Opportunity will exist to earn relevant industry-recognized certifications.
